Oakland Raiders fans should be ready for an earful of "We told you so!" at the pubs, sports bars, and wherever they encounter Redskins fans now that the Raiders have benched Jason Campbell just one and one-half games into his tenure with the silver and black.

If you are irritated by their smack talk, realize that Jason Campbell is none too happy a camper either.

Both Campbell and winning contestant Bruce Gradkowski have been kept unavailable for comment since the quarterback controversy flared up in the Raiders' 16-14 win over the Rams. But Raiders coach Tom Cable discussed Campbell's head space in remarks after practice Wednesday.

"He was disappointed," Cable told the Oakland Tribune. "but you know, if I understand him and what he’s about, he’ll battle with this."

"We are going to need both of them. This is a long season," Cable said. "The opportunity for (Campbell) to go in and play quarterback will be just around the corner. Now he’s just one play away so he has to prepare himself and be ready to go, and I think he will be."

Yes, you could tell campbell was upset. He was standing all by himself, sulking. He also had a long talk in a private area of the coliseum with Nnamdi Asomugha.

What about the fans who were upset with the things JC was doing on the field? I guess we're even

Raiders Ask Campbell Not To Speak To Media

By Chuck Carroll

Trying to get a word with an Oakland Raiders player Thursday was a next to impossible task.

Of course the media was clamoring to speak with Jason Campbell, but he wasn’t talking. He simply stated that the team asked him not to speak to the media Thursday according to Vittorio Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle.

The locker room was virtually empty during the 45-minute window media was allowed inside.

From his time with the Washington Redskins and all the drama that went on during while Campbell was there, one thing is certain " Campbell is a class act.

He would not bash the Raiders if allowed to speak. There is no question about it.

Campbell is a team player even though head coach Tom Cable said the former first-round pick was disappointed that he lost his starting job yesterday.

I can see here and there where they both can be in the game at the same time for a trick play or to take the focus off of the real play.

the Raiders have been into secrecy of late. Is it a culture change? Is it Al Davis? Hiding injuries, not allowing coaches to speak. Hue jackson was here for months before he was allowed to speak. I wonder why they will not let him speak. Do they think the media is going to ruin his psyche?

This hush hush type atmosphere is sort of reminding me of the Patriots organization. Not saying it's a bad or good thing, just kind of interesting.

^^^ I kinda like it and think that it should be that way. All problems should stay in the clubhouse. It doesn't seem like the circus anymore.
