Quote:
GLENDALE, Ariz."Sebastian Janikowski missed a 32-yard field goal as the game ended to allow Arizona to escape with a 24-23 victory over the Oakland Raiders Sunday in the Cardinals' home opener, a game littered with mistakes on both sides from start to finish.

The kick, after a pass interference call against Arizona's Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, was wide left. Janikowski missed two others in the game, a 41-yarder and a 58-yarder. Both were wide right.

LaRod Stephens-Howling returned the opening kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown for Arizona (2-1) and Derek Anderson threw two touchdown passes, including an 8-yarder to Larry Fitzgerald that proved to be the game winner.

Oakland (1-2) committed 11 penalties for 123 yards, Arizona seven for 104.

That's really tough- 32 yard FGs are supposed to be a sure thing for these pro FG kickers. It happens, even to a good kicker like Janikowski.

To be the highest paid kicker, and miss 3 field goals.

My thoughts exactly Jeff. What a chump. The guy hit a 55 yard FG early in the game and can't even nail a 32 yard FG to close the game and make the Raiders 2-1? He missed it horribly too, it wasn't even close. What good is having a big leg if you have no accuracy?

McFadden said that 99 out of 100 times Jano will hit that FG, this just so happened to be the 100th time. Gee that's awesome. Rolling Eyes

Now they have a very angry/frustrated Texans squad on their hands next week.

Lol Mojo, and to make it worse, the one time that he does miss it, happens to be in a game winning situation. Instead of being 2-1, and having some confidence, we are now 1-2, and have to play the Texans.

Well the Texans don't have the greatest defense, so that gives the Raiders a big chance. But man, that offense is intimidating, the Raider D is really going to have to bring it on Sunday. I'm very interested in seeing how Asomugha plays a hobbled Andre Johnson, seeing how he completely shut down Fitzgerald last week.

Nnamdi is by far the best CB in the league. He shuts down 1 side of the field, and this year has been shadowing the other team's #1 option.

Lat year Revis was thrown at 116 times, Asomugha was thrown at 28 times. That's less than twice a game. Johnson might not play, but if he does, he won't do much against Nnamdi.

I just hope our run defense can slow down Foster. Good thing the Texans aren't the epitome of Defense as well.

Hahaha, good to see that you're still around Raider Nation. You've been MIA for almost a week now, I was about to send out a search party for you. Laughing

Oh yeah, Aso terrorized Fitzgerald last week, and I think that he'll just completely shut down a hobbled Andre Johnson, if he decides to play. I've been laughing all week at how Cards fans in general have been making excuses for why Asomugha shut Fitz down, like using the fact that Anderson is his QB as an excuse. How about the fact the Aso just schooled him and ran him ragged!

Yeah, I hear you. Aso is just a great cover corner. His guy hardly gets any balls thrown his way. Fitz is a top 3 WR in this league, and Nnamdi was all over him.
