APA, Calif. " Jason Campbell says he is much more comfortable at the start of his second year with the Oakland Raiders.
With the same play-caller and many of the same teammates, Campbell gets a chance to build on what he did in his first season with the Raiders when he helped them go 8-8 to end a run of seven straight losing seasons.
That comfort level is evident in his knowledge of coach Hue Jackson's offense and his leadership skills.
Campbell spent the lockout studying the playbook, inviting receivers to his house for workouts and leading the offense through a minicamp in Atlanta in May.
Now the Raiders hope that translates into even more success on the field.
And now they have signed Trent Edwards to back him up. I don't think Jason is worried about losing his starting job.

Yeah...after reading a scouting report on Edwards, I question this move. Why would we want a QB who's first instinct is to checkdown and looks "scared in the pocket"? Kyle Boller looked terrible last year too. I think that Campbell's job is safe.
