Some pundits are speculating that Al Davis will use a 3rd or 4th round pick to bid for the services of Tyrelle Pryor in next Monday's NFL Supplemental Draft. Pryor, forced to leave Ohio State where he was the starting QB, asked to be included in the draft and the NFL finally obliged with the caveat the he would start the season with a 5 game suspension. He will be able to work out with the team that wins the draft with the highest Bid. He will also be able to play in pre-season games. Al Davis likes athletic players. Tyrelle is more of a great athelete than he is a great quarterback, so he will be considered a backup project for awhile. Some say the team that drafts him might try to convert him to WR. Will the Raiders try to draft Pryor?

Well, the guy is not exactly high-character, but he's got talent that's for sure. He definitely was a better college player than Campbell. Got my fingers crossed- what are our chances of getting him?

The Raiders have already lost their 2nd and 4th round picks next year, so they can't offer those. If they offer a 5th round pick, it might not be high enough to win Pryor in the draft. If they offer a 3rd round pick, they probably do win. But is a 3rd round pick to much to give up??? I say Al Davis offers the 5th just to see if he gets lucky.

I'm skeptical about Pryor, he's got his pros and cons, but I just don't know if it would be worth it. He's got height and athleticism but he's not exactly a sniper when it comes to throwing. But it'd be tough to pass up on him if we had the chance to get him.

Verdict: I DON'T KNOW!!!!!

The Raiders were one of 17 teams that went to watch Pryor's workout Saturday that he put on for the teams that might be interested in him. He hit 27 of 39 passes but 4 were just dropped. He ran a 4.31 forty so he is really fast. He had a 31" verticle jump as well. He told teams that he wants to be a quarterback but will play any position asked. There is some speculation that a team might ask him to convert to WR or maybe even running back. Personally I would try to make him into a quarterback who is a double threat, pass and run. Then turn him into something else if it doesn't work out. There are few if any quarterbacks who are as fast as this guy.

I am on the fnece on this one too. As you may guess with my screen name,,I am a USC fan. For someone like Pryor to get away with what he did when my team is being punished forro things none of them did makes me want to see this guy fail. I know Reggie got caught and so did Peyor. But Pryoer said he would come back for his last year if he could play in that bowl game,,then he bolts anyhow (like who didn't see that coming). But,,this is not about me!

Anyway,,AL may think about this with what happened with JaLoser. He was a brilliant college guy and turned out rotten. We already know Pryor put himself above the team,,would Al want to get another one like that? Although I will say Pryor was a far better QB. Or, is he worth getting to trade for someone else? Or, could he be a franchise guy for us?

My Guess: AL does go for it if he can. The Riaders always seem to give these types of guys a try.

I hope so! He is Randall Cunningham reincarnated. He's young, athletic & could be just as effective as Vick is to Philly. Campbell & company can't seem to find the end zone each game. smh

The Raiders have in fact drafted Terrelle Pryor in the NFL supplemental draft using a surprise 3rd pick to insure they got their man. Terrelle is a 6'5" QB who is super athletic, runs the 40 in 4.31, and has a 32" verticle. He is right in Al Davis' wheelhouse. This guy won 31 of 35 games as a starter at Ohio State. Is he the QB of the future for the Raiders?

He could be a good pick up if Darren is going to be iffy all season. I wouldn't mind having a dual threat QB.

Well, when one thinks about Superbowl QBs,,who fits the mold better,,,,,Campbell or Pryor?

Wow- great news. It's too bad he can't practice or play until week 6. Campbell has the experience edge but talent-wise I think Pryor is going to be better.

I'm curious about this guy. Too bad we can't see what he'll be like in practice until after the 6th week, but It'll be something to look forward too, especially if our offense is sputtering. Could be a great addition, we'll see.

Maybe he'll get a few plays in the preseason, since his suspension is only for regular season. Couldn't hurt.

Welcome Raiderdude. I see that Dave finally fixed your log-in problem. The lastest work is that the Raiders do intend to see if this guy can become an NFL QB instead of converting him to WR or whatever. There isn't very much time to get him up to speed with the offense and get him into a game. But we might see some experiments with "Wildcat Offense" for a couple of plays..........or line him up at WR, have him step back, receive the ball, and then become a QB. In other words, some trick plays. Line him up at WR and run a reverse. Line him up at WR and run a reverse that becomes a passing play. One thing a player like Pryor is capable of doing is keeping the other teams defense off balance.

I hope this works. It is excerts from Pryor's workout video throwing passes to Chad Ochocinco.

Ochocinco said "With the right coaching after what I saw today with my own eyes he can be a great QB." And this from a man who was working out with the man he's going to be catching passes from this season, one Tom Brady

Thanks for the welcome. I hope to see him as QB, but if he can help us in other ways, It'll be great. Looking forward to seeing what he can do.

This is a situation where he should get groomed this year, To play next year. He's going to have missed the first 6 games of the year. And this is after missing training camp. Let's get him ready for next year. This is a long term pick. He has all the right tools; He's tall, athletic, fast and he's a winner! He just needs to work on his accuracy. And he needs to get assimilated into the best competition in the world, The NFL. Having a few veteran QB's on the team passing on their experience & knowledge is a great thing also!

Pryor & Run DMC should be an exciting duo that leads our Raiders to multiple Super Bowl runs for a long time! IMHO

ESPN reports that Terrelle Pryor has indeed agreed to a 4 year deal. Raiders senior executive John Herrera said Pryor had arrived in the Bay Area and was expected to sign a deal Thursday night. He is expected to be at practice Friday. Pretty soon we will get to see how good he really is.
