Raiders owner Mark Davis visited the locker room after his team’s 38-17 loss to New Orleans. And after speaking with general manager Reggie McKenzie and coach Dennis Allen, he talked to reporters.

“I apologize to the fans,” he said. “I’m embarrassed for ‘em. Because they live and die as Raiders fans, and I feel for ‘em, I really do. And we’re gonna get it right. If it’s for anybody, it’s for them.

“I feel the same way. I’m a fan. And I take responsibility for it, gonna get it right.”

The Raiders are 3-7 and have been outscored 135-69 the last three weeks in losses to Tampa Bay, Baltimore and New Orleans.

“I’m not happy,” Davis said. “But nobody in this room is … seeing progress week to week, would’ve been a happier time right now. But you know that’s still possible.

“You can’t blame it on the salary cap and all that. You have players and you coach ‘em and you play, you gotta be Raiders.”

The Raiders looked like they were turning their season around with back-to-back wins over lowly Jacksonville and Kansas City, but that turned out to be fool’s gold.

“I’m just saying right now I’m a little disappointed with the regression,” Davis said, “but like I say, they’ll fight. … And hopefully they’ll fix it. … I am patient but I want to see progress.”

Davis didn’t like the word “rebuilding” as he clearly had hoped the Raiders would follow up back-to-back 8-8 seasons with a playoff berth.

“I know that we didn’t have the talent, at the beginning of the year, to be a Super Bowl team,” Davis said. “I thought that we had definitely potential to get maybe in the playoffs and beat teams in our division. Obviously that hasn’t happened.”

Davis was asked if first-year general manager Reggie McKenzie and coach Dennis Allen get a pass this season?

“I wouldn’t call it a pass. They’ve got contracts, they’re gonna be here.”

The 3 biggest problems they have had with this team this year have been:

1- They way over estimated how good the defensive players were

2- Letting running back Bush leave in free agency without an adequate replacement in case McFadden got hurt.

3- Never signed that one "red zone receiver" they could help them score instead of relying on field goals.

I guess you can add the fact that our offensive line doesn't seem to be opening holes for our running backs continues to be a problem. That could also just be the zone blocking scheme they have used so often.

This team is now a long ways away from being competitive. It looks like our #1 weapon, McFadden, is a chronic injury plagued player. We will need to find new weapons if we are going to start winning again. And completely rebuilding the defense is going to be a big chore.

^ Number 2,,I still don't get that one. And we need to get a real tailback not named McFadden and some guys who want to block. Recievers are faster then all get out,,with deer hands. They need to actually work on catching,,or invent a Lester Hayes stick'um to use.

Yeah totally- Bush is having a nice season so far. Well, the season is pretty much lost at this point. Sucks that we lost all those draft picks to get Palmer and it hasn't worked out. Defensively we definitely need to get better.
