OK, the lockout is over, Raiders are headed to the workout facility in Alameda, and fans are dusting off their Raiders gear so the Raider Nation can continue to be the most intimating fans in the country.
The Raiders first game is a preseason game at home on August 11 against the Arizona Cardinals. The season opens on September 12 against the Denver Broncos. This road game will be the opening game on Monday Night Football and will be covered by ESPN. After the first two games on the road, the first home game will be against the New York Jets on September 25.
Under new head coach Hue Jackson, the Raiders will be looking forward to improve on last years break out season where they finished with an 8 - 8 record. In the middle of the season they won 3 in a row and finished winning 3 out of the last 5.
The Raiders key free agents that they want to sign appear to be tight end Zach Miller, quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, free safety Michael Huff, and running back Michael Bush who is a restricted free agent. Two free agents that they are likely to lose are Robert Gallery and Nnamdi Asomugha.
This all means that the Raiders are going to have to work on signing a veteran wide receiver and do extensive work on their offensive line, as well as shoring up positions at linebacker, free safety, and cornerback.
